Future-Ready Resident a Winner with Positive Change

As part of the Green Home Calculator – enviroSTAR initiative Villawood Properties has awarded Positive Change winner Farhana Malek $2000!

A resident to Villawood's Claremont Park community in Tarneit Ms Malek used the Green Home Calculator to reduce the carbon emissions and water usage in her new home.

The Green Home Calculator encourages home buyers to build environment friendly homes in new communities and includes a checklist of environmentally sustainable initiatives such as energy efficient appliances, water tanks, gas boosted hot water systems, water efficient shower heads and more.

As part of this program each month a $2000 prize is available to the Villawood homeowner who saves the most carbon and a $2000 prize for the Villawood homeowner who saves the most water within their new home.

Recently moving into her new home at Claremont Park Ms Malek is excited to be a winner, but more importantly is pleased her home is future-ready and friendly to the environment.

" I am personally very concerned about the future of our world and think the Positive Change program is a great initiative to help reduce carbon and water usage which is not good for the environment.

" Many of the changes are really easy to do and are a great step for our future – I would encourage other home buyers to do the same in building their home.

" The quality of the environmentally friendly products used, especially some of the energy efficient electrical appliances, is great and will last the test of time in our new home," Ms Malek said.
